Open letter to the murderer(s) of late Hussein Salah

Whoever you are, sleep tight as you have a government going out of its way to protect you! Here is what they have done to cover you:

- The State media first blatantly lied on TV saying that the body found had no visible injury. We all have seen the photos, therefore we know Salah was killed.
- To prevent people from gathering in protest against such crime, over 15 people were arrested, and some of them beaten up. We all remember the picture of Anni being punched by the police.
- The government of Maldives in various press releases has vilified and criminalised your victim Hussein Salah, making his murder sound more acceptable. By doing that, they have caused huge grief to a family in mourning, who will be haunted for the rest of their lives, with the image of their battered son.
- The police are fabricating evidence trying to prove that Salah was released on the 13th.
- The Maldivian authorities have delayed the autopsy for as long as they could,, keeping the body at higher temperature in an attempt to erase the evidence.
- Dr Shaheed stated on television as soon as the autopsy results came out, and before the family even knew them, that Salah drowned, ruling out the possibility of violence. But we all know that you could have drowned him like you have probably done before.

Murderer(s), we all know Salah died in your violent hands. And we Maldivians know, that you will not be punished, because this is the current law in our country: punish victims and protect criminals.
