Imagine a bridge like the Oresund bridge connecting Male' to Hulhumale'
One of the biggest problem in the Maldives is the
crowd congestion in the capital and rising cost of housing as well as scarcity
of land. There are well 100,000 people are living in a land area of just under 2
sq km. The Maldives capital island Male' has the highest population density in
the world.
Hulhumale' reclamation project however controversial and environmentally
unfriendly, did bring hope and opportunity for many who were desperate for an
improvement in their living conditions. Unfortunately, severe shortcomings and
the corrupt nature of the current regime in the country, a lasting solution is
yet to be achieved.

equitable manner.
