The very first
free assembly held in Male'
The informal gathering held
at the Male' Social Center on the 29th of June 2004, is
considered by many reform advocates to be a monumental event
for Maldivian fight for political pluralism and democracy.
This is a the very first time
in our history people gathered in public to discuss and debate
Maldivian politics without anybody being harassed by the
Gayyoom controlled NSS.
