MDP's Shadow Cabinet approved by National Council

A meeting of the National Council of MDP was held yesterday in which 9 shadow cabinet ministers were approved. Party President proposed a list of 10 candidates but one of whom withdrew.

The Shadow Ministers approved by the council are: Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan manik, Hon. Mohamed Shihab, Hon. Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, Hon. Hassan Afeef, Hon. Ibrahim Shareef, Hon. Mariya Ahmed Didi, Aminath Jameel, Hon. Reeko Moosa Manik and Hon. Dr. Hussain Rasheed. The shadow cabinet portfolios will be assigned in the coming week according to sources in MDP.

Dr. Mohamed Munavvaru was approved to be the Legal Counsellor of the party. The current spokesman Hamid Abdul Gafoor was approved to be the Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General will be Aishath Aniya. Hassan Zahir (Rado) was approved by the council to be the Treasurer of the party. Hon. Mohamed Aslam was approved by the council to be the Director for National Elections.
